Chugach Mountains, as seen from my hotel room.		Midnight sun in Anchorage (from my hotel room). The Sun set around midnight, stayed about like this for a few hours, then rose again around 4:00 am. I could see sunset and sunrise from the same window. This view is looking out over the bay (Knik Arm).

A moose trots through downtown, across the street from my hotel. He wandered farther into the downtown area and got his picture in the newspaper the next day.		Dusk/dawn in Anchorage, 2:30 am.
I made a side-trip to Barrow on June 15-16. These are sod house mounds in Barrow, dating from about A.D. 1200. These houses were part of the ancient village of Ukpiagvik, where Barrow now stands.		The Arctic Ocean, seen from Barrow. There is an ice pack close to shore; the water is farther out.
