MOON ROCKS - PANEL X
The lunar soil. The rubbly lunar surface layer is called the regolith. It has been formed by the continued bombardment of the Moon by meteorites. On the Earth, these meteorites largely are burnt up in the atmosphere, but on the Moon, they hit at full velocity.
