MOON ROCKS - PANEL III
Lunar Rock 15415. Also a lunar crustal rock, this sample, called anorthosite, consists primarily of the mineral plagioclase feldspar, a calcium-aluminum-silicate. Materials rich in plagioclase were separated by melting of the Moon's primordial material and concentrated toward the surface to form the lunar crust.
